While I love the work we do in the offices of The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools, I don’t get a lot of opportunity to see the direct impact our work has in the lives of the students. By getting to sit and read with these kids at Adams Elementary once a week, I really get to see the fruits of our labor as well as meet some of these incredible kids that we’re helping.

I’m working exclusively with first graders, so they are incredibly curious and excited about everything. That is a welcome change of pace in my day, and I feel lighter and happier every time I get to spend time with them.

Adams is such a wonderful and bright environment for these kids. I think it fosters a warmth that the kids I work with certainly emulate. They are so sweet and I can’t wait to see them grow throughout my time with them.
