Mary Mélon Releases Statement on Aurora Lora’s Resignation
OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 30, 2018) – Oklahoma City Public Schools Superintendent Aurora Lora announced her resignation today.
Mary Mélon, President and CEO of The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools, released the following statement in response:
“Aurora Lora has been a champion for the children of Oklahoma City. The Foundation thanks her for her service and wishes her well.
As the Oklahoma City Board of Education seeks a new chief executive for the district, The Foundation remains committed to its mission of advancing excellence, creating champions and building strong community support for lasting change in Oklahoma City Public Schools. No matter who becomes superintendent, we will continue to do what’s best for the district’s administrators, teachers and, especially, its students.”
